THE insulation industry has welcomed the Federal Government's multimillion-dollar boost, saying it would lift the sector and generate jobs.
Liesa Warren, who owns the Insulation Superstore on Brisbane's southside with husband Craig, praised the package.
"It'd be silly to say we're not chuffed. It really will generate jobs," she said.
"We have to employ people to answer phones, people to measure and quote and order products from companies. The products have to be manufactured and freighted and then installed - so think about all the jobs that will be supported by this."
The Government estimates 2.2 million homeowners will be eligible for free product and installation of ceiling insulation, capped at $1600.
And the rebate available to landlords who insulate rental properties will double to $1000.
